Recently, a viral video captured a chaotic scene outside the PKNS Complex in Shah Alam, where a man attempted to bring his dog into the mall, resulting in a confrontation with security. The clip shows the man walking briskly towards his dog, which was tied outside the complex. He tried to bring the dog inside but was immediately stopped by a security guard, and soon after, loud shouting could be heard.

Initial reports suggested the man was at the complex to renew his passport. However, a statement from the police clarified that the real reason for his visit was to buy a kilogram of gold from a store inside the complex. According to the statement, the man became enraged when he felt the staff at the gold shop failed to attend to him. Frustrated by the lack of service, he allegedly shouted expletives at the staff, which escalated the situation.
As tensions grew, bystanders gathered near the entrance of the building, trying to defuse the situation. The man then stormed out to retrieve his dog, attempting to bring it into the complex. Security guards, adhering to the mall's long-standing no-pet policy, stepped in to stop him once again. The situation ended with the security escorting the man and his dog out of the premises.
The incident quite caused a stir among onlookers, as it violated the mall's strict policy against pets. While strays and local wildlife occasionally find their way into the complex, pets are strictly prohibited.
Following the disturbance, Shah Alam police received three reports related to the incident on the same day, October 17, from both the man involved and several witnesses. As a result, two investigation papers have been opened. The first, filed by the man, is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which deals with assault. If found guilty, the man could face up to one year in prison or a fine not exceeding RM2,000.
Witness reports, on the other hand, are being investigated under several sections: Section 290 of the Penal Code, which deals with public nuisance and carries a fine of up to RM400; Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955, which carries a fine of up to RM100; and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which involves improper use of network facilities and could result in up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to RM50,000.
The police are actively seeking additional information and have urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact investigative officers Insp Nor Sabryna Mohammad Taha at 014-5130450 or Sergeant Rustam Eliah at 019-6148034.
As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen what legal consequences the man will face for his outburst and violation of the mall's policies.
