A delivery rider was filmed storming into a dessert cafe in Penang and assaulting restaurant staff after an order dispute.

According to the Facebook post uploaded by the restaurant management, on the day of the incident, there was an order which had been pending for 30 minutes due to the designated rider's failure to arrive.

The restaurant had to notify the system and a new rider was then assigned. Not long after, the initially assigned rider came to the restaurant with a friend, voicing out his dissatisfaction over the changed rider issue.

At the heat of the argument, the rider angrily threw a drink at one of the employees, making her cry. The owner tried to de-escalate the situation by asking the rider to calm down.

Again, the rider acted aggressive by throwing the cafe's menu at her, and challenged her to call the police. The friend he brought over could be seen acting aggressive as well.

Unfortunately, despite having a police report made, the police's response was rather disappointing. Due to no visible injuries or damage done to the restaurant, the police refused to take any action.

One Facebook user notified the food delivery platform regarding this incident and they responded saying the two riders have since been terminated for their misbehavior.

Netizens are angered by this incident and demanded that the rider be punished accordingly.
