Have you noticed that some brands use prominent figures as the face of their brand to boost marketing, sometimes without consent? Recently, the popular Chinese traditional herbal jelly and tea brand, Koong Woh Toh, faced criticism from Dr Noor Hisham, the former Director-General of Health.
This is another irresponsible marketing using my name and photos by Koong Woh Tong, intended to cheat the public. What a shameful act. It leaves me no choice but to take Koong Woh Tong to court. He accused the brand of misusing his name and photos for marketing without his consent. Dr Noor Hisham shared images of newspaper clippings displayed at their outlets, urging the public to buy their products.
He called it irresponsible marketing and threatened legal action against the brand for misleading the public.
