The Kedah State Government Council has introduced a directive requiring night market traders across the state to halt business operations during the evening prayer period, solat Maghrib, starting May 1st.
Kedah State Executive Councillor for Local Government Affairs, Mansor Zakaria, revealed the decision during an interview with The Daily News, following discussions at the Kedah State Government Council meeting held last Sunday, the 21st of the month.
"Based on the consensus reached during the meeting, the local government will officially notify all night market traders to comply with this directive, effective May 1st," mentioned Mansor Zakaria.
