ICYMI: Family Asked To Disembark From MYAirline Flight For Security Reasons

AirAsia's in-flight prayer sheet listing six different prayers for a safe journey has garnered attention from netizens. Twitter user Xiran (@XiranJayZhao) uploaded a picture of the docket, believed to be from Air Asia Indonesia, and jokingly said the airline really covered all its bases. The prayer sheet has prayers for Muslims, Christians, Catholics, Buddhists, Confucianists, and Hindus.

While praying for a safe journey is not unheard of, netizens had some questions about the prayer sheet. When a netizen jokingly asked why atheism was left out, Xiran said its represented by the flight safety pamphlet (and probably the safety briefing). For those who wonder why only "six" religions are highlighted, Indonesian netizens explained that only these religions are recognized in the country. They added that all Indonesia-based airlines have this prayer sheet on their planes.

Others also questioned why Catholicism is considered separate from Christianity when Catholicism is one of the many branches of Christianity. There are also questions about categorising Confucianism as a religion when it's a school of thought. It's alleged that Confucianism in Indonesia generally refers to Chinese folk religions

Regardless of one's spiritual beliefs and understanding, the prayer sheet has amused netizens. The airlines still deserve praise for including prayers from various religions for their passengers' comfort.
