Since the first lockdown which happened on precisely March 18th 2020, Malaysians have not been allowed to leave the country as means to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Now after more than a year and a half later, it would appear that the light at the end of the tunnel has become brighter than it has ever been.
Based on reports, prime minister Ismail Sabri stated that upon having the population reach a fully-vaxxed rate up to 90%, Malaysians may be able to even travel overseas by December 2021.

Malaysians can not only cross states, but also travel overseas in December 2021 when the country's vaccination rate has reached 90%, Prime Minister @IsmailSabri60 was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
"Yes, December. Maybe even earlier."
“Yes, December. It may be even earlier. We will open up the state borders to enable them to be crossed. Travel to other countries will also be opened up after we reach the 90% vaccination rate,” he said.
Based on KJ's announcement, the fully-vaxxed adult population reached a sum of 86% yesterday, and according to CovidNow, it is up to 87.2% at time of writing.
Sabri also stated that should the target be achieved in the next two weeks, international travel could be allowed much sooner than expected. Besides that, people would also no longer need a MyTravelPass (MTP) after borders reopen.
“We will no longer have to register for the MyTravelPass to leave the country but the conditions for quarantine remain the same,” he said.
On top of that he added that the government is still in discussion with Singapore to allow daily workers from Johor Bahru to cross the causeways for work, like before.
