As announced by the Malaysia Prime Minister, the Restricted Movement Order (RMO) has come to the second day. Yesterday (March 18), Malaysia PM once again urged Malaysian to stay at home. However, is it too hard for Malaysians to, JUST FOLLOW THE ORDER? The answer is YES!
According to Harian Metro, the ijtema event of Asia 2020 that will be held from March 19 to March 22, in Indonesia is reported to be attended by thousands of Tabligh pilgrims and is believed to be attended by Malaysians. A spokesperson of the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta voiced out that, although the embassy has banned Malaysians from attending the program, it is believable that hundreds of them were reported to have been there.
"We have yet to have the actual number of Malaysians who are going to attend the event, but we are trying hard to track down those who are involved," the spokesperson said to Bernama. He added that based on a consular notice that Malaysians living in Indonesia had registered via e-mail at the [email protected] or [email protected], it was believed that some of the individuals who had participated in the event were also registered.
In a separate report by Berita Harian too stated that, according to a source from Bernama, there is a total of 83 Malaysians who are already at Sulawesi with the purpose of attending the event, which is also going to be attended by pilgrims from 48 other countries.
However, local media reported that Indonesian authorities had not issued any permits for the event scheduled for March 19 to 22, and are in the process of negotiating with the organizers to disperse.
On March 14, Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta had released a consular notice to ban Malaysians from participating in any mass gatherings in Indonesia, including attending the above-mentioned rally event.
So, can y'all PLEASE, just STAY AT HOME?
