A police inspector has been placed under seven-day remand on suspicion of raping a complainant who had come to report an incident at his office within the District Police Headquarters (IPD) Tumpat. 

During the remand proceedings, the lawyer representing the police officer, Mohd Firdaus Zainal Abidin, objected to the remand application on behalf of his client. However, the court ordered the police officer to be remanded for seven days for further investigation.

The remand is a crucial step in facilitating the investigation of the implicated police officer, who also serves as a 38-year-old investigating officer. The allegations fall under Section 376 of the Penal Code, specifically related to the offense of rape.
